Pronoun

We all know that Pronouns are used as substitutes for nouns and noun phrases. Same with the other branches of English pronouns were as important as them.

Pronouns can do anything that Nouns can do, A pronoun can act as a subject, direct object, indirect object, object of the preposition, and more

Since pronouns are substitutes therefore noun can rest a little bit and let pronouns do his job.

Pronouns can be considered as the Partner-in-Crime of Nouns (LOL)

Pronouns can be divided into numerous categories for us to be able to know how to substitute it to a noun. Here are some of the Pronoun Cases that Allaine (Reporter) discussed:

  • Indefinite Pronoun – those referring to one or more unspecified objects, beings, or places
  • Personal Pronoun – those associated with a certain person, thing, or group; all except you have distinct forms that indicate singular or plural number
  • Reflexive Pronoun – those preceded by the adverb, adjective, pronoun, or noun to which they refer, and ending in –self or –selves
  • Demonstrative Pronoun – those used to point to something specific within a sentence
  • Possesive Pronoun – those designating possession or ownership
  • Relative Pronoun – those which refer to nouns mentioned previously, acting to introduce an adjective (relative) clause
  • Interrogative Pronoun – those which introduce a question
  • Reciprocal Pronoun– those expressing mutual actions or relationship; i.e. one another
  • Intensive Pronoun – those ending in –self or –selves and that serve to emphasize their antecedents
So that's it you Guys I hope that this can help you on your Studies. See you on my next one. :)
