Singular and Plural Forms of the Noun (Regular and Irregular)

The difference between singular and plural nouns is easy to recognize but the difference between singular and plural nouns is simple once you know what to look for.
When a noun indicates one only, it is a singular noun. When a noun indicates more than one, it is plural.
Here are some of the ways on how we can make a singular word a plural one
  • Most singular nouns form the plural by adding -s. (Regular Plural)
  • A singular noun ending in s, x, z, ch, sh makes the plural by adding-es.
  • A singular noun ending in a consonant and then y makes the plural by dropping the y and adding-ies.
If we know this ideas it would be easier for us to identify what a noun is.

There are times when the Regular and Irregular Nouns have the same form and nothing should be changed(Species-Species),some comes from the Latin Words(Focus to Foci),there are also nouns that end in -s but not plural (News) *Bold words are Example*

So that's it you Guys, I hope I helped you with your Grammar Stuffs
Hope to see you on my next one. Bye :)
