Pronouns can do anything that Nouns can do, A pronoun can act as a subject, direct object, indirect object, object of the preposition, and more
Since pronouns are substitutes therefore noun can rest a little bit and let pronouns do his job.
Pronouns can be considered as the Partner-in-Crime of Nouns (LOL)
Pronouns can be divided into numerous categories for us to be able to know how to substitute it to a noun. Here are some of the Pronoun Cases that Allaine (Reporter) discussed:
- Indefinite Pronoun – those referring to one or more unspecified objects, beings, or places
- Personal Pronoun – those associated with a certain person, thing, or group; all except you have distinct forms that indicate singular or plural number
- Reflexive Pronoun – those preceded by the adverb, adjective, pronoun, or noun to which they refer, and ending in –self or –selves
- Demonstrative Pronoun – those used to point to something specific within a sentence
- Possesive Pronoun – those designating possession or ownership
- Relative Pronoun – those which refer to nouns mentioned previously, acting to introduce an adjective (relative) clause
- Interrogative Pronoun – those which introduce a question
- Reciprocal Pronoun– those expressing mutual actions or relationship; i.e. one another
- Intensive Pronoun – those ending in –self or –selves and that serve to emphasize their antecedents
